Hammer of the Ducks!

Greetings Adventurers!

I have had confirmation from Chris at Macrocosm that all the production moulds are done, spin casting is underway and we will see boxes of ducks flying out the workshop doors over the next couple of weeks. Unless you are at the far edges of the map, you can expect your ducks by the end of February 2020.

There was a recent issue with a mushroom having a cracked head but the main delay proved to be a couple of other Kickstarter projects ahead in the queue, trying to beat the Brexit rush. Despite the pressure, Chris has done a fabulous job of keeping everything in order. All is now on track for a speedy delivery and I appreciate your patience. 

As for Brexit, the effect it may have on customs fees are delayed until December 2020. So if you're in the EU, you don't need to be concerned about a new UK customs fee on your ducks. To be honest, nobody knows exactly how everything will work from December. However, it won't be an issue for DuckQuest.

DuckQuest Fantasy Roleplay

Speaking of DuckQuest, my initial promise to you was a new range of characters for your games.  In the heat of the Kickstarter campaign, I upgraded that promise to include a set of rules! What was I thinking?! Anyone who has designed their own game system will know this is a mammoth undertaking. Devoting my hobby-time to creating a game for you has been a challenge. One that is ongoing. As a lifelong hobbyist gamer, I must say it's also been highly enjoyable! 

I have been writing and drawing, reading through old White Dwarf and Dragon magazines, and doing my best to avoid creating a rule book that looks like so many of the hefty RPG tomes on my bookshelf. So I am excited to say you will be getting DuckQuest Fantasy Roleplay, even though it's going to be a beta set, or a Quackstart set of rules. This will enable the rules to grow through play testing with this community. This is still likely to take months of work. Gary Hunt Launches Beestwars!

Gary Hunt is launching Beestwars on Kickstarter Today. This is a Quickstarter MAKE 100 project, so you'll have to get in early!

I know there are a lot of Gnoll and Minotaur fans out there that will be whooping and lowing for these minis. As you know, Gary is a world class sculptor. This is his first Kickstarter, so let's show him some support!

Production in Full Swing

Thank you for your support of DuckQuest and for continuing to send messages of encouragement as I write the rule book. Meanwhile, Chris and the team at Macrocosm are getting all the ducks in a row, casting up a mountain of metal magic. Delivery is on schedule for January 2020. 

Backerkit Pledge Manager Closing Soon

After a slightly extended run, the Backerkit Pledge Manger will close next week and there will be no more preorders available for DuckQuest. Most backers have their orders and addresses confirmed for shipping. Thank you! It really does make the whole production flow easier.

Shipping Delayed Until After Christmas

Greetings Delvers!

With the festive holidays looming, I hope you aren't under too much pressure and have some time-off planned... which brings me to the title of this update: we have delayed shipping until the week after Christmas. This means the new delivery date is January 2020.

Why the Delay?

As you've probably heard before, Kickstarter is not a store. By backing DuckQuest you have helped in creating something really special and the estimated delivery date (December 2019) was just that, a really good guess. This delay is just a case of making sure production quality remains high and the packaging and shipping of your pledge is seamless. So it's going to be a little late but it will be worth the wait.

DuckQuest Fantasy Roleplay

I am excited about progress on my fantasy heart-quacker, DuckQuest. I know many of you will be using these miniatures to represent characters in your own favourite table-top quest games and I couldn't be happier. After all, that's what this hobby is all about! I am enjoying creating a game world for them also and I look forward to sharing that with you. There is a lot of work involved and I don't want to rush the process, so I will share my progress with you as I go. Your input and feedback is welcome!

Production Underway!
